I finally got something painted this month. I've been out most weekends and I've also been busy with my new hobby; playing with hardball weapons aka softair weapons.
My goal for this week was The White Dwarf pirate model I received recently + 2 thunderers. Again I must apologise for the lighting.
Also, I took the few few steps in my Harry the hammer project.
Only a fast update since I am currently on my way to Copenhagen for the Top Gear show.
Cheers.
Welcome to everyone! This is my little happy corner where I post my ideas and projects. Please enjoy.

Lightbox/studiobox
Hello there
I have recently purchased a lightbox. People kept complaining the pictures on the blog wasn't good enough so I thought that might help. It is rather expensive for a 45x45 cm collapsible contraption of metal rings and thin cloth, but it seems like it works. Here are the first pictures taken. Most of them, if not all have already been posted so these pictures are just to show the lighting.
All of these pictures were taken with sunlight on 1 side of the box and a mirror reflecting sunlight on the other side. Going to post how it looks with ordinary 40w lamps soon.
For the Danish audience I have a poll running at the danish Powerfist forum about what I should paint next. Looks like its going to be the new pirate white dwarf. Also, today I recieved the 25th anniversary crimson fist miniature. Looking forward to be posting pictures of that soon.
Till then, take care.

Painting elves
Hello there. Its been a while, hope everyone has been having a good time since last :D
This month started out in Sweden where I had fun skiing with some friends. We whent to Lofsdalen which turned out to be quite a good place for alpine skiing... and snowboarding in my case.
Here we are, eager to get started (me on the furthest right.)
Going up there:
I also got some videos from some of the blues and greens down the last part of the mountain. You find them on my Youtube profile here.
Anyway, a few days before we went to Sweden, a friend of mine contacted me. He asked if I could paint a few minis for his nephew. I always like a challenge and since these weren't going to be the usual dwarfs I said yes. They are due to be delivered tomorrow and I finished a few minutes ago. There were few wishes as how to paint them. I even got a drawing how he wanted one of them:
So here are the results:
First off, a wardancer mini by GW, supposed to look more like an assassin. I wanted all the colours to dark, but still, I wanted there to be some colours so it wasn't grey on black all of it. The inside of the cloak got a leather brown and the clothing a dark red with a black wash and then blood red highlights in the end. My friend wanted the skin dark, but the rest of the mini was already very dark. So instead of making the entire mini very dark I painted the skin in style with most elves; pale skin colour, but with a bit of grey in it:
Second was Thranduil mini by GW. He was supposed to look like a wanderer so I chose some Natural colour but still with more flash then the assassin. I did some testing with a red was on the sash and the staff. (unfortunetly the staff was badly bend when I received the mini so it looks a bit crooked. Tried to straighten it out but it was impossible to get it totally straight.):
The last mini is the Erestor mini also by GW. I realy like the mini, great pose, simple figure yet detailed where is matters. I doent like the way GW has painted it though. Golden armour just looks crap (imo). I tried to make it clear is was a harder metal, but with a thinned brown wash gave it some shading and colouring together with the blue main colour. For a bit of contrast I gav ethe loincloth, swords and sash a thinned red wash:
I have satisfied with the result, though the wardancer was a hell to paint. With no colour on it near impossible to see what's supposed to be what.
I dont know if I get to paint more this month. Prob cant keep my fingers away from a few dwarfs.
Till next time. Take care.

Working on dwarfs
Hello there
January is almost at an end. I havnt had much time to paint but I had a goal and I have to manage atleast that or my army will never be finished. This months goal was:
1) 2 slayers
2) 2 miners
3) finished bases on at least 4 thunderers.
The main reason for goal no. 3 was... I hate doing bases. So, I am planning to do the bases first from now on. That way I aint stuck with a miniature I think I've done a great paint job with... and then still need to do the base, risking to hit the mini.Hope this amounts to alot of dwarfs with some paint on over the next few months.
Tomorrow I leave for Sweeden were I'll have some fun in the snow with my snowboard so I had to finish this months goal today, and I did. Here goes (mind, some of the minies were halfpainted from long ago so that why the style might varie)
Slayers.
Miners.
Thunderers with finished bases ready for paint.
Despite spend quite some breath explaining how much in a hurry I've been... I've managed to paint 2 minies that wasnt on my list for this months goal... yeah I know its stupid but I felt like it and the only one pressured by that decision is me. So therefore I also finished a paintjob I started long ago on this miner hero.
Thats all from me for this month. Any comments to the painting is welcome. As always, I apolegise for the poor picture quality. Still working on that lightbox.
Cheers till next time.

First of 2012
Hello there
Its January 2012. Time should be spend digging yourself free from huge drifts of snow... but so far the Danish winter had barely made me scrape frost off my windshield. Other than that I've spend much of my time in bed with back problems and a fever. Anyway, enough about the real world. Lets get going with the fantasy world!
This months bar is set:
1) 2 slayers
2) 2 miners
3) 4 finished bases on thunderers.
Now... I have to set these goals for myself, or else I know I wont get things done. Its been more than 10 years since I first started my interest for this universe and by know I've collected quite the amount of miniature. Since I rarely play but is more interested in the painting part, the incentive to get a complete army painted hasnt realy been there. However I really really want to have a complete painted army so its my goal to paint at least a few every month. I am STILL, though, a moppet at following my own goals so when I saw an old dwarf pointing at me from the desktop I hat to paint him... well... at least he is still in my army.
+ my 250 dwarfs...
Take care.

Sorry for the bad lighting. I am planning to go buy a lightbox so I can take some proper pictures of what I paint, but I am not sure I have room for it :D
Anyhow. I have spend a lot of money on models lately, so right now I have on my list:
1) manfred von carstein
2) Vlad von Carstein
3) squig / lizard duel
4) Harry the Hammer
5) Griff Obervald
6) Bör Dragonbane (avatars-of-war)+ my 250 dwarfs...
Take care.

Last of 2011
Its the last day of the year, and I finaly finished a few minies. My beloved dwarves are on their way to becomming a proper painted army. 4 down.... 200 ish to go.
First is my second entourage for my witchhunter band.
Second is a couple of dwarfs. 2 of which was my painting goal set for this month on the Powerfist forum.
To my own surprise I mannaged to paint 2 more dwarves:
So, thats the end of 2011. I hope for an even more productive 2012 and I wish a happpy new year for everyone. Take care, cya on the other side :)
